Ingredients: Valerian Root Extract (Valeriana Officinalis), Chamomile Extract (Matricaria Chamomilla), PharmaGABA™ (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid), Magnesium (Magnesium Glycinate), Melatonin (N-Acetyl 5-Methoxytryptamine), 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) (Griffonia Simplicifolia Extract), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

⁣1. VALERIAN ROOT EXTRACT (VALERIANA OFFICINALIS)

Valeriana officinalis is a plant, commonly referred to as valerian. Valerian supports relaxation and soothes anxiety while assisting the signaling of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), one of the main sedative neurotransmitters. (1) Valerian promotes a state of calmness to help you naturally fall asleep.

⁣2. CHAMOMILE EXTRACT (MATRICARIA CHAMOMILLA)

Chamomile has been used as a traditional medicine for thousands of years to calm anxiety and settle stomachs. In the United States, chamomile is best known as an ingredient in herbal tea. (2)

⁣3. PHARMAGABA™ (GAMMA-AMINOBUTYRIC ACID)

GABA is the ‘downer’ neurotransmitter that counters glutamate (upper) as the two balance brain activation. Highly important in the brain, oral ingestion of GABA is complex. (3) GABA is an amino acid and natural calming neurotransmitter that inhibits the excessive firing of neurons in the brain. It is taken orally to relieve anxiety, improve mood, reduce premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms, and treat attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is also used to promote lean muscle growth, burn fat, stabilize blood pressure and relieve pain. (4)

⁣4. MAGNESIUM (MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE)

Magnesium is an essential mineral required for the regulation of body temperature, nucleic acid, protein synthesis, maintenance of nerve and muscle cell electrical potentials. (5) It is a dietary mineral and the second-most prevalent electrolyte in the human body. Known as “the relaxation mineral,” magnesium plays an important role in hydration, muscle relaxation, energy production, regulation of adrenaline, and overall sleep quality. This mineral promotes a calm, balanced, and mentally focused demeanor. Magnesium deficiencies are the second-most common deficiency in developed countries behind Vitamin D. A lack of magnesium will raise blood pressure, reduce insulin sensitivity and cause neural excitation. Magnesium acts as an adaptogen by protecting against stress and depression while relieving ADHD symptoms. The functions of magnesium in the living cell, nerve synapses, calcium antagonism, membrane function, and energy transfer are considered to be critical in cellular processes that influence physical exercise.

⁣5. MELATONIN (N-ACETYL 5-METHOXYTRYPTAMINE)

The primary use of melatonin as a supplement is to normalize abnormal sleep patterns. (6) Other benefits of melatonin include general neuroprotective effects, as melatonin is a powerful antioxidant. Melatonin is a neurohormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain, and it is well known for causing and regulating sleep. Light suppresses melatonin synthesis, and older people tend to not produce as much at night. Depression has also been associated with lower melatonin levels.

⁣6. 5-HTP (5-HYDROXYTRYPTOPHAN) (GRIFFONIA SIMPLICIFOLIA EXTRACT)

5-HTP is a compound that gets converted into serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is one of the principal neurotransmitters involved in happiness.. 5-HTP has been used with success to restore serotonin levels in those that might suffer from decreased serotonin levels, such as those who are depressed and those with high levels of body inflammation (typically seen in metabolic syndrome). Since 5-HTP promotes serotonin levels, serotonin, in turn, promotes melatonin levels, resulting in sleep regulation benefits. (7)

⁣7. VITAMIN B6 (PYRIDOXINE)

Vitamin B6 is considered essential because it serves as a cofactor in more than 150 enzymatic reactions.. (16). Vitamin B6 is essential for at least 100 enzymes that help the brain make key neurotransmitters. It helps the body utilize carbohydrates, fats, and amino acids derived from proteins. This vitamin also aids the conversion of potentially damaging homocysteine into useful antioxidants, while also promoting relaxation, immunity, and a healthy mood. (16)
